ourSTORY

Building on 25 years of designing architecture in the United States and abroad, partners Michael Palladino, Jim Crawford, and Alex Wuo, along with the entire team, are pleased to welcome you to STUDIOpractice. Collaboration, Sustainability, Context, Order, and Daylight guide our work and ensure we create architecture that elevates any environment.

Our commitment to creating a crafted, timeless architecture is evident in the work we have done over the last two decades. The office has designed a broad range of building types in the United States, Italy, Singapore, China, Kuala Lumpur, and Australia. Our team of diverse and talented professionals has provided comprehensive design services for projects at every scale and complexity. Among recently completed award winning commissions are the Edie and Lew Wasserman Building at UCLA, the United States Courthouse in San Diego, San Jose City Hall and Civic Center and private residences in Malibu and Beverly Hills.

In 1986, Michael Palladino moved from New York to Los Angeles to establish Richard Meier and Partners’ West Coast office with the primary purpose to design and build the Getty Center. After completion of the Getty in 1997, and given the exceptional talent and experience of the Getty project team, our Los Angeles office decided to transition the Getty “project office” to be available to new clients with a focus on public sector architecture in the U.S. and abroad.

In 2021, we changed our name to STUDIOpractice to more accurately reflect our approach to architecture and the profile of our team. We continue to thrive in the same Westwood studio with the team of architects and designers that have worked together for years with a shared vision for architecture that inspires. The new firm and new name reflect a new era, a way of working, and acknowledge the contributions by our dedicated team of architects and designers.
