University of Bologna Master Plan
and School of Engineering
Bologna, Italy
2001 - 2012

The historic City Center has been the site of University of Bologna for 1,000 years. This international competition was co-sponsored by the City of Bologna and the University, with the goal to re-create the existing synergy between campus and community, northeast of the City Center. Our office collaborated with Roman Architect Piero Sartogo on the winning entry that achieves these goals.

In the same way that the University enriches the historic urban core, the School of Engineering is designed to activate a new mixed use fabric, fostering engagement and partnership between the civic space and the University. The School of Engineering is positioned as a vibrant centerpiece for the new urban fabric.
